I just want to say thank you George for expressing what was on my mind as 
well. I was mildly offended by some of the responses to the original 
post.  I feel mixed because I could tell the posts were well-intentioned 
and coming from a "liberal" perspective. But being "liberal" i.e. "what 
ever they do behind closed doors is ok with me as long as I don't have to 
see it.",  while better than the outright discrimination of right wing 
fundamentalists is sort of a consolation prize on the way to a fully 
accepting nurturing diverse society.
