We used Marmoleum on a suspended concrete floor to reduce sound transmission to the house below. 2mm Marmoleum on 2mm corkment underlay increased the theoretical IIC (Impact Insulation Class) rating from IIC 43 for an uncovered concrete floor to IIC 63. This is similar result to what would be acheived using parquet flooring or 6mm cork. We wanted a thin covering that would not insulate the concrete floor from the passive solar thermal gain. We've been happy with it so far (in residence for 4 months only). Acoustics within the house was not an issue here so I don't know how marmoleum performs for sound absorption within a space.
