What: 2003 North American Cohousing Conference

Where: University of Colorado at Boulder

When: Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday, June 19-22, 2003

Hello cohousers and friends. This is Neshama Abraham Paiss of Nomad
Cohousing in Boulder, CO. I'm writing to let you all know that the 2003
North American Cohousing Conference will be taking place in Boulder this
summer, and I wanted to personally invite you to attend.

Who Should Attend?
The Conference Planning Team has been meeting regularly to put together a
full schedule of interesting presentations for four distinct groups of
people:

? Members of completed communities who want to deal with issues facing
      residents once you move in;
? Groups who are far along in the planning stages and are nearing
      construction;
? People who have recently learned about the cohousing concept and are just
      getting going; and
? Cohousing professionals currently working in the industry and those wh
      would like to.

Offerings
This year the structure will include full day workshops from seasoned
cohousing residents and from experienced cohousing professionals on Friday,
June 20. On Thursday and Friday (June 19 & 20), participants will be able
to take guided bus tours of completed cohousing neighborhoods in Northern
and Southern Colorado for Conference attendees who pre-register. On Saturday
and Sunday (June 21 & 22,) there will be a multitude of 90-minute focused
seminars and plenary sessions to choose from. And for the professionals, we
will hold a special opportunity for cohousing architects, designers, project
managers, developers, builders, marketing and group process professionals to
get together and learn from each other during a "Professional's Day" event
on Thursday, June 19.

We will also have a stimulating Friday night keynote address to open the
conference on June 19 (we'll let you know who will be speaking soon), and a
community dinner & dance with live entertainment on Saturday night (June
20.) Plus, there will be our Cohousing Community book store, an exhibits
area for professionals and communities, t-shirts specially made for this
year's Conference and much more!

Speaking of more, Boulder is beautiful during the summer. The Conference is
taking place at the University of Colorado, Boulder campus, which is also
where the housing is being arranged. The Conference site is just one bus
stop away from Boulder's downtown pedestrian Pearl Street Mall. There,
you'll find the pleasures of fine dining, excellent vegetarian restaurants
and many interesting shops to explore. (I hope I don't sound like a travel
agent!) Plus, if you're into hiking or biking, Boulder has an amazing bike
path that follows along Boulder creek and is easily accessible from the
University.

>From now on, I'll be sending out periodic updates about Conference
activities. In the meantime, please feel free to pass along this email to
others you think may be interested in attending what will be the fifth North
American Cohousing Conference. To register, you can go online to
http://www.cohousing.org/conf/co2003/. If you have any questions about the
conference, please contact Annie Russell, Conference Coordinator at
russellconsult [at] aol.com or by calling 303-772-5851.

We look forward to seeing you in Boulder this June!

P.S. Please note that the registration fee will go up after May 1.

Neshama
