Actually, you need a connexion to household water for initial fill, and make-up in case of leaks. If permanent, it will have a shut-off valve, in addition to a backflow preventer and pressure reducer and expansion tank. Other things that might be needed are a bleed valve and/or gas separator, thermal mixing valve(s), pressure relief valve, pump(s), electrolytic isolator fittings (or whatever they are called), and other things only your plumber will know.
"All the contractors we spoke to who did radiant heating recommended a closed system. In a closed system, the tapwater and heating water are totally separate. The heating system recirculates the same water all the time. The tubes under the floor are flexible plastic and impermeable to oxygen."
