My concern is that if the community takes political positions as a group that the group is viewed by the larger community as a political force and we are not. We are not designed to be and that was not the intention of the members in joining even if we do agree on some very important issues.
The tendency of the surrounding community is to view us as a block, and in this respect they fear us, as well. It is easy for them to see us as this big group of people who moved in en masse. I think it is important for us as members of the larger community to meet them on equal footing as individuals.
