Nutcase

Rob ...

If you "look at the history" of me you'll find that I'm an ex-convict whose
done two years in a maximum custody federal penitentiary! If you look at the
history of many on this list you'll probably find several who should have been
my cellmates. Others qualify as nutcases on diverse merits.

There is probably no greater proportion of persons in cohousing that are
"nutcases" than in the general population. But, as we all know, we have our
"nutcases." I'm also a doctoral level clinical psychologist. I've come close
to formal diagnosis of several home-grown nutcases as residents in cohousing.

Though this guy may have as his motive disruption of this list ? that is not
within his control. Do we fear that others of us will allow this to happen?
Is it the nutcase that ?ruins? this list? Or, is it that we do not trust that
others among us (?suckers? vulnerable fools? The `less? enlightened??) to
restrain themselves. Should we kick out ?nutcases?? If that were the case
shouldn?t it be in the R&Rs of some communities?

In my experience at our CH location it is not the ?nutcases? who?ve done the
damage. Rather, it is the passive and avoidant worry warts that misperceive
constructive conflict for outright bedlam and incivility. Their sphincter
puckers at a mumbled `harrumph!?

So ? nutcases of the world, heed my welcome to this list!
