Dear friends and colleagues,

We are very pleased to announce the awarding of a grant to Gaia University
for the development of International Standards for Regenerative Development
(working title).

The grant of $100,000 by the Global Eco-Restoration & Development
Foundation, (GERDF), a member of the Eco-Earth Alliance, will cover Phase
I of this project. The Ecovillage Network of the Americas will serve as
fiscal sponsor. China will be the first pilot country where the draft
Standards will be tested.

This is a call for candidates who are experienced members of Ecovillage,
Co-Housing, Ecocity, Permaculture, Bioregional, Smart Growth and allied
movements. We are looking for active leaders with relevant knowledge and
skills, and significant time to commit to this project from January through
June 2005, to join a team of ten people to develop the working draft, as
well as an Advisory Board which will revise the proposed document and
suggest changes.

Team members will receive a stipend of $5000 and their expenses paid for a
5 day working meeting to take place in February, 2005 at an Ecovillage or
Permaculture project. In addition, it is expected that most of the team
members will be invited for the launch of the Pilot Testing of Standards
presently scheduled for June 18, 2005 in China. All expenses will also be
paid for the conference in China.

Advisory Council members will serve as volunteers but may be invited to the
China Standards launch conference of June 18, 2005 with expenses covered.

Further information is contained in the attached documents. If you are
interested in this project and would like to be a part of the "Team", be on
the Advisory Council, or just be advised of progress and have the
opportunity to "endorse" the Standards when the draft is completed, please
fill in the attached application, and return it NO LATER THAN Wednesday,
December 22th, to Liora Adler
<mailto:lioraadler [at] gaiauniversity.org>lioraadler [at] gaiauniversity.org or
<mailto:lioraadler [at] aol.com>lioraadler [at] aol.com

Be sure to include a one-two page resume with your response and note any
prior experience in the development of standards, guidelines, tests and
measurements.

Feel free to pass this on to other potentially interested colleagues and
forgive cross-postings.

Team members will be selected with an eye to balancing (to the extent
possible) gender, bioregional residence, and experience. There is a strong
possiblity that the working meeting site will be Mexico, although other
options that minimize travel by the international Team are being
considered. If you are selected you will be notified of the confirmed
meeting venue and precise dates on Jan. 9, 2005

For the Earth!
