Dear Lavinia and all,

No, it doesn't have to go to a New Zealand citizen at all. I am someone who
did this from afar. I was living in Berkeley California with my family,
trying to do cohousing there and getting nowhere for 12 years (we wanted to
live in Berkeley, not anywhere else, so we were being picky) when I
discovered Earthsong online. After working for Election Protection in 2004,
we decided we'd had it with the U.S., and were ready to expatriate. So I
booked us a flight to New Zealand and we checked out 5 ecovillages in the
North Island here. There was no competition - Earthsong is by far the most
wonderful cohousing community we've seen, and we've checked them out all
over the U.S. and California. So we bought a house, went home and sold our
house, applied for permanent residency, and boom - we're here - all 3 of us
are now Permanent Residents of New Zealand and we can keep our U.S.
citizenship! So if you're interested in checking us out, let me know and I
can help walk you through the process.

The website is www.earthsong.org.nz and there's lots of pictures, especially
if you click http://www.earthsong.org.nz/unit31.html to view the unit that's
for sale.

Peace,
Judy

Interesting. How does someone from far consider this? Can it only go to a
New Zealand Citizen?

I am curious? Do you have pictures or a link to a website?
