Architect Michael Black's home at Yulupa Cohousing is for sale in Santa
Rosa, CA. It is located above the plaza/courtyard and has two bedrooms and a workstation at 1,064 sf. Two lofts, cork floors, radiant heat, passive cooling, carport storage. Featured on cover of Communities Magazine, Fall 2007. Great
commonhouse, guest and exercise rooms, workshop.

Michael died of a heart attack on April 9. Alexandra cannot maintain the
ongoing costs, so is forced to sell. At move-in the homes of this design
sold for $399,900. With upgrades of cork floors everywhere but the kitchen and bath (where there is real linoleum), a deep tub with tile surround, and
the architect's color and design touches, the cost of this home was at
$412,000 at that time. It is now encumbered for $376,500. An additional cost of $2,300 for the installation of an additional layer of soundproofing under
the cork (required by the community because there was an error in sound
transmission calculations made at installation) would bring this price to $378,800 plus closing costs in order for no additional costs to accrue to Alexandra. (Michael put his heart, soul, and resources into cohousing; he was working on a dream project in San Francisco which now will not come to
pass.) Other offers will be considered, but a "short-sale" entails an
extended wait.

The home is on the second floor with a balcony. It features high ceilings, two lofts, large wardrobes and 10' x 3' carport storage with shelves. The
large commonhouse has a library, large multipurpose room, playroom and
laundry room. Other common areas include a guest room, workshop, exercise
room and gardens.

A floor plan (mirror image) is included on the Yulupa website under Project Features.
