There do not appear to have been any responses to this. We are also looking to revamp our work/participation policies. I've researched this in the archives (and found a few excellent ideas to crib), but would be interested in hearing updates, and responses from communities who haven't contributed on the subject before. It was an awfully broad-based inquiry. Would asking about some narrower aspects get the ball rolling? (1) I'd be interested in hearing from communities that (a) turned around a failing volunteer system and made it work, or (b) have moved away from a totally or mostly volunteer system. (2) What motivational methods have the best ratio of the amount of work produced compared to the amount of work it takes to motivate people? What organizational structures can build in motivation, instead of depending on having someone with the right personality available and willing to do the motivational work? Kay Wasatch Commons SLC
