And invest in a universal remote control. My husband's a geek who wants all 
those kinds of options on his TV, including radio, CDs, DVD, etc.. Our 
universal remote is set up for ME with "Watch TV," "Listen to Music," "Watch 
DVD," etc. The remote is programed to turn all the right components on and off. 
Pretty much idiot-proof, according to me-the-idiot. LOL

It won't solve the problem of plugging and unplugging things but I think Jerry 
is probably right is suggesting several dedicated machines.
