I think this is an excellent marketing consideration. I have personally relocated several times for new jobs into new market areas and always rented a home before making a decision to buy. Right now, I have just rented a home to a new cohouser, relocating from a west coast cohousing community. She's moving for a new job and family proximity, but I completely understand that she'd like to rent if possible before putting down a few hundred grand or more to buy, since she's now a Newcomer, no longer a Pioneer. In due course, I'd be happy to sell her the house if she likes it or help her build a new one At Liberty Village, we are reconsidering our unit designs for the next 20 homes. Should they be SFD, TH, Semidetached duplexes, or multi-family flats? I like the concept of building a 4-plex for rentals, which can be leased to prospects on a 6 month extendable lease with an option to purchase or build a new home here. Not my decision, but a consideration for the group.
