Fair Oaks EcoHousing, a new cohousing community soon to be built in Fair Oaks (on the outskirts of Sacramento, California) is sponsoring a free workshop, "Downsizing Your Home," on Saturday, April 2, from 1 to 5 pm at the Carmichael Library community meeting room. Gwynnae Byrd, a Certified Relocation and Transition Specialist will present the four-hour workshop. Her motto: "Declutter, Simplify, Breathe!" The workshop will cover the following topics: * Managing your information -- paper and electronic * Learn where to start and how to proceed with purging and sorting * "Repurposing" your possessions (instead of sending them to the landfill) * Downsizing for a move * A moving checklist -- your guide for getting through the move process * Addressing individual downsizing challenges (such as souvenirs, collections, artwork, heirlooms The Carmichael Library is located at 5605 Marconi Avenue with plenty of parking.
