Fair Oaks EcoHousing, a new cohousing community soon to be built in Fair
Oaks (on the outskirts of Sacramento, California) is sponsoring a free
workshop, "Downsizing Your Home," on Saturday, April 2, from 1 to 5 pm at
the Carmichael Library community meeting room.

Gwynnae Byrd, a Certified Relocation and Transition Specialist will present
the four-hour workshop. Her motto:  "Declutter, Simplify, Breathe!"

The workshop will cover the following topics:

* Managing your information -- paper and electronic
* Learn where to start and how to proceed with purging and sorting
* "Repurposing" your possessions (instead of sending them to the landfill)
* Downsizing for a move
* A moving checklist -- your guide for getting through the move process
* Addressing individual downsizing challenges (such as souvenirs,
collections, artwork, heirlooms

The Carmichael Library is located at 5605 Marconi Avenue with plenty of
parking. Seating is limited and reservations are recommended.  Email
