Beyond cohousing there is a large world of other experiments with
cooperative ways of working, organizing and producing. I would  love to see
more links between us in cohousing and that world.

One opportunity: I would like to invite you to the CommonBound 2016
conference of the New Economy Coalition in Buffalo NY, on July 8-10. Join
us in co-creating the joyful, just, egalitarian world we yearn for!

On Friday July 8,  there will be a variety of pre-conference events called
"Network Gatherings." I will lead one of those: an all-day workshop on
self-governance featuring sociocracy (the operating system for Pioneer
Valley Cohousing!). The Network Gathering is only $20!

Network Gathering: "Self-Governance: Walking The Talk in Our Organizations
and Movements" presented by Jerry Koch-Gonzalez

Many organizations operate with a traditional top-down hierarchy. What is
the alternative? This hands-on workshop will offer a practical approach to
ensure that every voice matters while increasing effectiveness. We will
explore Sociocracy/Dynamic Governance, a method of self-governance that
redesigns traditional organizational decision making, transforms ownership
structure, and offers a vision of society based on cooperation. We will
also look at the decision making processes and structures of the
organizations that workshop participants belong to and consider how they
could take shared and distributed leadership to the next level. This
gathering is for all: worker-owners, social change activists, for-profit
and nonprofit staff and board members. Time to walk the talk!
