Cohousing-L Mailing List: Documents for assessments and purchase committments

  Good morning friends!

  Our group is just about ready to start assessing members, say, $100  
per month, to pay ongoing expenses.  We are organizing using the  
Condominium model, and will be subject to the Washington Condominium  
Act.

  2 questions: When your group formed, were the assessments  
refundable if the person left the group before making a purchase  
commitment, and under what conditions could a person get out of a  
purchase commitment?

  I realize that there may be different legal requirements state by  
state, but would anyone be willing to share their documents for 1.  
assessing new members who aren't yet ready to make a purchase  
commitment, and 2. A purchase commitment.  This would give us a  
starting point
