Subject: [C-L]_ Including interested people in the process when they
        aren’t ready to commit financially
Hi, Debbie,

While these are not responses to your specific question, if you would like some
input re scheduling meetings/gatherings, mine is below. If it is TMI, fine to
delete. I hope you get some helpful responses, and your project, sounds like
you are doing well, continues well.

I read that in response to your question, Sharon V suggested weekly contact.
We, Cantines Island CoHousing, Saugerties, (Hudson Valley, NYS) met every two
weeks during development. Seven years. We also met in between for potlucks at
one another’s homes. Once a month does sound like a long time between
meetings, unless you have something like meals together in between.
BTW, we continued to meet every two weeks for years after building and moving
in. Eventually we went to 2x per month (two fewer p year) and now……
we meet only once a month. Committees meet in between.

all best

Hello everyone:

My name is Debbie Fox and I'm currently involved in Ralston Creek Cohousers in
Arvada, CO. We are part of a larger community, Geos Neighborhood, that is just
starting development. Our group is growing, slowly. We have 8 committed
members who have put up money to be part of the cohousing. We meet
approximately once a month, mostly to discuss member recruitment. Once we get
to 10 members the requirement is to put in a larger amount of money that will
go to hiring an architect. Then we can start the design process.

My question is: How have other developing cohousing groups included interested
parties that are not ready to put in money? Do you include them in the monthly
meetings? Several people have asked to come to the meetings, but they aren't
ready to commit financially.

PS: I have an intermittent e-mail glitch. If you write and do not hear back
from me shortly, please call me or please re-send. Thank you, Ruth
