And yet, he's asking questions in order to get to know this better. This strong negative response to a newcomer who is seeking to gain knowledge is offputting. It resembles the NIMBYism typically seen on Nextdoor. I think a bit of inclusion, and assuming good intentions, wouldn't hurt.
