I don’t think it is a question of trust — people are very forthright in making 
these statements that leave me speechless. I explained it to another person 
off-list this morning as cohousing used to be a socio-political movement as 
well as a housing revolution. Now it isn’t. Many of the same objectives are 
there — diversity, welcoming all kinds of people, etc. Great people. 

But there seems to be less awareness of how adopting the processes and forms 
without question undermines socio-political action. It’s the questioning I’m 
missing. Maybe assuming the problem is "over there," not here. Just fill out 
the form.

Sometimes I feel like I should have saved all the signs from the 1970s. It’s 
the same consciousness raising process needed now. The book I miss most was the 
handbook for consciousness raising. The one NOW published. I haven’t been able 
to find another copy.
