Training the next wave of cohousing professionals:
The 500 Communities Program

Do you want to pursue a cohousing career? Maybe you're interested in
sustainable community design, real estate development, project
management, facilitation or marketing. The 500 Communities
Program<https://www.cohousing-solutions.com/about-the-program> is a
12-month course designed by Katie McCamant to train collaborators, and
meet the expanding need for professional support in creating new
communities. The Program applies to many different job fields and was
designed with all means of collaborative development in mind. Its
intention is not to teach one model of cohousing, but to build on the
lessons learned as we explore models of collaborative development not
taught in university or trade school.

manager, consultant and resident for 35+ years. Not to mention, she
cofounded the cohousing movement and coauthored the seminal book,
