If there isn't a hide then go ahead and delete. The risk is they will
come back and make comments about getting deleted. But only if they
are actually paying attention.

I do the hiding on my laptop not on my phone. The three dots in the
upper right  have hide there, only when you are admin for the page. I
often have my admin do it as I'm not that good at figuring it out.
