Hi Lisa
My name is Devora. I lived for a short 6 month term in Columbia
Ecovillage cohousing renting from an owner who had to go back east to care
for her mom. That was in 2016. Since then I have been living in Jerusalem
and am still in touch with friends I made at Columbia Ecovillage. I am
taking a trip back to the northwest at the end of the month. I am planning
to move back to the PacNW and am exploring returning to xo- housing in
Portland or a new co-housing moshav forming in Berkeley CA. I plan to be
in Berkeley July and august. Renting from you from September to early
November would be perfect. That way I could try out both scenarios.
I will be traveling with my service dog Frank. He is a 2 year old Labrador
who I fostered in Israel to be a guide dog for the blind. He didn’t make
the cut ( only 28% of their dogs pass) and so I adopted him. In America he
trained 4 Mo the more to be a psychiatric service dog and I am his
handler. He travels with me everywhere and is an amazing dog. Everyone
falls in love with him and we do therapy work with vets, altzheimers
patients, children with emotional disorders, wheelchair patients…….

We will be doing a fair amount of car camping in our suburu outback during
the summer. It would be great to have a real ‘home’ for 2 months.

I’m sure you would have to get approval from the community to rent to a
person with a large service dog. I can get you any references you might
require

About myself, I am a semi-retired very active woman - avid cyclist and
hiker. I am a piano technician by trade and have clients in Israel ,
California and NYC.

I am happy to give you references from Columbia Ecovillage along with more
recent references. My very close friend Jack Newlevant is a long term
Portlandian and fellow cyclist responsible for many of portlands original
bike paths.

Please let me know if you are interested in this possibility and tell me
what the reduced rent would be. I would also need a place to park my
Suburu outback which I hope would not be a dealbreaker.

Thank you
Devora Feiger
