A shorter link to the article that others have posted on a cohousing community for older women. https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2023/aug/24/we-have-brothers-sons-lovers-but-they-cant-live-here-the-happy-home-shared-by-26-women This is an excellent article with more breadth and depth than most. Not a cringe-worthy sentence in the whole thing. One interesting anecdote about why men are not allowed: One community of women felt that they were discriminating unfairly so they allowed a few men. In a period of months, every member of the managing committee was male. Not to suggest that the men were purposely overbearing, but that in the company of men, women consciously or subconsciously chose to be other there rather than accommodate or convert. It’s likely that the male members brought with them traditional corporate governance attitudes and beliefs.
