Topic: What does Car Sharing have to do with Transportation Demand
Management?

Transportation Demand Management (TDM) is a subdivision of urban planning
that focuses on encouraging and discouraging people's transportation
choices. Strategies include offering incentives, adding new amenities, and
adjusting permit fees for property development. Some examples include
providing transit passes, or not providing free parking. It's been used by
individual employers and residential buildings, but also cities and
regions.
In this talk, we'll review examples of TDM strategies, and discuss how car
sharing fits. Existing TDM programs, or proposing to start one, may be a
path towards establishing or growing car sharing.
