We’re creating Shift Esperanza (https://shiftesperanza.com/) an eco-village/ 
permaculture farm in Nosara, Costa Rica, a beach town on the Pacific Coast. We 
own the 100 acres of dry tropical forest land with abundant native trees, have 
received all the necessary infrastructure and building permits, and are in our 
third year of actively growing food at the farm.

Our cohousing-inspired community is based on six principles 
(https://shiftesperanza.com/about/#values): interconnection, environmental 
stewardship, self-inquiry, accountability, generosity, and play. We currently 
have over 50 founding members/investors and are open to new community members!!!

La Siembra – Feb. 10-17, 2024 in Nosara, Costa Rica
We’re hosting La Siembra (https://shiftesperanza.com/la-siembra), a week-long 
introduction to Shift from Feb. 10-17 in Nosara. This fun and rejuvenating week 
will give interested folks an opportunity to walk the land, connect with future 
residents, meet our experienced development team, plus dance, do yoga, eat 
local food, and enjoy beach time in warm water at one of the world’s best 
surfing spots.

In December 2023, Zev Paiss, founding Executive Director of CoHo/US and 25-year 
resident at Nomad Cohousing in Boulder, CO, hosted a Zoom gathering about 
Shift.

Attended by communitarians from the U.S. and Canada, the recording includes a 
PPT with the site plan, timeline, pricing, and building design photos.
