To get a flooring that will last a long time, you will probably need some hard 
surfaced material.  Our Common House has polished concrete.  We offset the 
acoustic trade off with this super durable surface with Tectum 
(ttps://www.armstrongceilings.com) on the ceiling.  It works very, very well.  
It can install it on the walls or as “clouds”.  It can be painted or bought 3-D 
sculpted.  For cost savings, ours is just plain white, which is fine.
