We deal with bios this way
We have generic descriptions on the website 
But if we have a serious candidate we say, these are the folks who will be your 
neighbors / send them our bios and ask them not to share them.  (If you worry 
about sharing them send a hard copy)

If people see problems with this approach it would be great to learn from you.
