New Urban Cohousing in Madison, WI

20-unit intentional community

    Small enough for making decisions, large enough to share the work.

Why?

    In addition to wanting a stronger community, we want to address two
    concerns: our impact on the environment and resource consumption;
    and climate change.

Why Madison?

    - A progressive college town with 280,000 residents, extensive bike
      paths, and transit
    - Year-round lake activities, two hackerspaces
    - State capital with university healthcare system

Project Status:

    - A quarter of the households have already joined
    - A local developer interested in cohousing projects
    - A local lender
    - Several suitable building sites being evaluated
    - A detailed financial analysis of the project (so we know it’s feasible)

Commitment:

    All the community members working on the project intend to live in
    the community — they’re committed to success.
