> Hi Ann, Exciting times for your community. Quimper Village folks began moving in November 2017. We do not keep an inventory of our kitchen equipment, and still see a need for one. There doesn't seem to be a need to. We knew about how many residents we would have. We assumed everyone would come to Community meals, so we purchased cooking, serving dishes and place settings for that many people. In actually, not everyone comes to dinner…in face, a few people never do. We have the largest number of diners for meals like Thanksgiving dinner. when we often have visitors. I’m sure that if we have more people signup for a meal than we have dishes for, some of us would bring what extra was needed from our homes. We did buy our kitchen, table & serving items from a commercial kitchen supply store. They have restaurant-quality stuff, that is generally heavier duty than home equipment. You want sturdy, cup-resistant china because you will be washing in a high-speed manner and using a high-temperature sanitizer for health reasons. We bought good knives (but I still use my own knives when I cook in the common house…I’m familiar with them and ,frankly, better quality than we have in the CH kitchen.)I think she other frequent cooks do too). Note, Our architect designed and (it was constructed) a faucet on the wall behind the cook top, for filling large pots. Expensive to run a water line to that location. It has never been used. I know that feature is often found in commercial kitchens, but it doesn’t fit the way most of family cooks. I recommend that you spend your kitchen money on more useful things.
