Is that right? Not on the same day of the week each month? I'll try to join in next times. Here at Prairie Hill, Iowa City Cohousing, we are talking about how to care for ourselves in our homes AND about how to get all the work done. We have a multi-generational community of 55 or so and just finished construction two years ago. Raines, you've been here! We're setting up a new "Mutual Support" circle to work on coordinating support services for folks who need in-home health care, etc. And we're talking to the Visiting Nurses Assoc. and Hospice re how to coordinate their services with other services. As we help people stay in their homes longer, they will be less able to help weed the prairie grass and gardens, shovel snow, mow lawns, etc. Do we have to raise our dues and hire people to help? We occasionally hire repair services as needed now. Is the work requirement making our units harder to sell as some believe? We sometimes have trouble getting enough volunteers to plant and weed native shrubs/trees, organize and staff our annual neighborhood Jamboree (that we're dropping), etc. Thoughts? Craig -- Craig R.
