I have to push back on Philip's comment! I see way too many announcements
inviting people to attend an in-person meeting in a city I've never heard of,
with no mention of the state or region. Forming groups take local announcements
and post them on national sites with no additional details. "Join us at the VFW
hall in Gardenville!" Who's being lazy here? When I see those posts, I figure
if their marketing is that lame, the project isn't going anywhere, and I won't
bother to look for more information. Thanks for listening; I feel much better
now.

(This comment does not apply to the Durango discussion. I don't know Colorado
that well. I would prefer "xxx minutes/miles from Durango in southeast
Colorado," which would give me the urban/rural details I want.)

What with Google Earth and all the other Internet research sources, I never
have any problem scoping out unfamiliar locales. So I’d go short with
“Durango*, CO”. If some people are too lazy to investigate Durango on their
own, maybe they won’t be the most dynamic of new coho members.
