A retired couple at RoseWind Cohousing is downsizing within the community and
is selling their large, flexible non-traditional house, perfect for a
multigeneration household, a family with kids or for 2 households. It is for
sale by owner with a tentative move-in window of this coming fall. It’s a total
of 3000 square feet on 3 levels, the lowest level being a daylight basement
ADU. More info and some photos are posted on our website, at
https://rosewind.org/rentorsale/ <https://rosewind.org/rentorsale/> .
Founded more than 30 years ago, RoseWind is a multigenerational community that,
because so many of our original members have stayed, tends to skew older. Our
shared amenities include a beautiful common house and 9 acres of shared land
including several small orchards, a large shared vegetable garden, a
playground, a dog park, a large grassy commons and several walkable wooded
areas. We self govern by consensus, with day-to-day decisions made by working
committees, and larger matters handled by a steering committee and about 6
whole community meetings per year. Ongoing expenses for maintenance and
improvements of the common holdings are kept low due to the work that we do
ourselves— $1500 annual dues in 2026. Our social activities include movie and
game nights, morning coffee group, art group twice-monthly potlucks, monthly
general work parties and twice-weekly garden work parties.

For many years we have called ourselves an “intentional neighborhood”. Some
would refer to our style as “cohousing light”. Neither work nor participation
are mandatory, but we strongly encourage cooperation, connection, mutual
appreciation and assistance, and pitching in together to better the community
as a whole.

RoseWind is in Port Townsend, Washington, a progressive small city of 11,000
situated on the northeast corner of the Olympic Peninsula. Seattle is 2-3 hours
away by car or bus plus ferry. Local climate is relatively cool year round, and
far less rainy than Seattle (dry summers, with 17 inches of rain per year). We
are just 1 to 2 miles from all schools, a great food coop, a beautiful library,
and a lively downtown with many summer activities.
