Cohousing-L Mailing List: Fines and Mediation

Hi All,

At River Song we have decided to have no fines or penalties, no hurdle
rates or performance expectations.  It is all voluntary, and it works
pretty well but we periodically need reminders about putting a small ($5.00
per person per common meal) donation in the money box.

We have trained mediators among our residents and have used them from time
to time for hardening conflicts, along with one session with professional
mediators when a conflict got to the point of departure.

I love the opportunity to share how we all can make cohos better, and the
world better.  Smiles.
