I am surprised that so far no one on the list has mentioned Emeryville 
Cohousing in the Bay area. They successfully converted an old 
wherehouse into cohousing and have been living there for about a year 
or so now.  I beleive it is where Durrett and MacCamant, the authors of 
the cohousing book, live these days.
