Can anyone comment on the provision of community services -- meals, tools, etc 
-- as community businesses?  ... i.e, 
        hire, internally or externally, staff to provide the service, 
        charge residents to use the service, 
        let the community as a whole own the capital equipment, and 
        set usage fees just above costs.

This sounds viable, but does anyone have experience making it work?
