Hi, I'm Fred Olson and I call myself the "sysop" of Cohousing-L since I do maintenance functions for the discussion list. Thru this I've met many folks and enjoyed the contacts. Last summer while on vacation in New England I visited the New View folks thru contacts made thru Cohousing-L. I'll be in the Boston area on vacation in September and am proposing an informal brunch/discussion/visit on Sunday morning September 18th. for any cohousers in the area who'd be interested and particularly for interested Cohousing-L subscribers. Tho cohousing-L has interesting discussions; it does not compare to meeting folks in person. Our Twin Cities Cohousing Network did an event that combined social and issue discussion aspect with Bruce Coldham, from the NE Cohousing Quarterly and cohouser from Amherst, MA when he was here a while back. It was very pleasant. I'm using this as a model though I don't claim to be as interesting a resource as Bruce. Part of the rationale is that it will give Boston area Cohousing-L subscribers a chance to meet each other. The details have yet to be worked out. Watch here for further details. I have corresponded with a few folks about it but was losing track of who I'd talked to and who I should write to so decided to go ahead and make an announcement here to hopefully cover all the bases. A volunteer to firm up the plan is needed. It could be as simple as picking a restaurant tho a more friendly site with a potluck or something might be nice. Email me if you're inclined to take this on. Fred -- Fred H.
