On 6-Sep, jeffp [at] ossi.com (Jeff Papineau) wrote some comments on >Subject: Re: Alienation in housing caused by the rich and powerful? that seem to me to be more relevant to intentional communities and house- sharing than to cohousing. He then wrote: >For more on these ideas, read "Alien Dreamtime" by Terrance McKenna, and >M. Scott Peck, "A Different Drum". I just listened to an audiotape of "A Different Drum". There was a lot of interesting stuff on it about what a sense of community means and how to achieve it, but very little mention of it in the context of housing. It appears the tape left out a lot of what is in the book. The tape and book were published in 1987, so I would not expect them to mention cohousing. Are there specific sections of the book that discuss community in the sense of housing arrangements? Has M. Scott Peck written any newer material that speaks to community in housing?
