There is nothing about cohousing that is opposed to capitalism, and vice versa. I've been a libertarian for years and two other members of our (alas failed) cohousing group were former officials of the Libertarian Party. Libertarians would be opposed to government using its police powers to force people into cohousing, but any contract (formal or informal) entered into voluntarily by consenting adults, ought to be supported by a Libertarian. And the social organization that is a cohousing group is a set of informal and formal contracts, much more explicitly and voluntarily consented to by the members, than in a standard neighborhood.
