One quick and dirty but widely available way to get pictures online
is to fax them to a computer fax from whence they can be coverted into 
a standard format such as gif.  I did this to get some illustrations
for a local newsletter a while back.  I cleaned up the faxed image in a 
paint program...  Also Kinkos has scanners.
