EcoVillage at Ithaca members have each put in about $7500 up to this point. This point is: We just got preliminary approval from the town, the site plan and houses are all designed, and we're ready for some more detailed and expensive site engineering & final approvals, with groundbreaking in May/June/July, depending on how fast the town acts toward final approvals. We're about to start another round of assessments that looks to be about $11,000-$12,000 over the next 4 or 5 months, per household, for engineering and infrastructure work. And the town wants us to have a lot of cash up front to ensure completion of infrastructure before they'll give final approval for building all the units. *All the units* is 30 for us. We have 25 *official* members with 3 on a waiting list. The NY State Atty General has just told us we'll need an offering plan before we can *officially* let the others sign on & give us their hard-earned. Ray Gasser raygasser [at] delphi.com
