Several of us at EcoVillage at Ithaca will be moving previously "commuting" offices into the CH, making them "non-commuting". For me the time savings that Mike Mariner mentioned will be dramatic. Of course, it would be tough to commute from Ithaca, NY to my clients in NJ once I move, so the tele- commuting is essential. I may end up blowing a lot of the savings on the occasional car trips back to NJ for face-to-faces, but maybe even that can be cut down dramatically by video teleconferencing. My phone bills, however, might be *interesting* to say the least. We will be wiring the entire community (pending approval of the proposal) with fiber, and i'll be getting at least 4 phone lines and maybe ISDN. We have several computer nerds at EVI, and we occasionally talk about doing something together and getting filthy rich, but nothing's been done yet...
