For those of you interested in a hands-on workshop on homebuilding: The
Thousand Islands Institute's "The Knack of Home Construction" a nine day, 64
hour intensive workshop seminar.
Over the last fourteen years, 2000 inexperienced men and women have learnt:
electrical,plumbing,foundation construction,framing,interior
finishing,exterior finishing,design and layout,heating &cooling,
management(buying materials wholesale etc. etc.).
The tuition is $1580. Canadian (about $1140. US) (in Canada program is
certified therefore income tax deductible). Tuition includes all materials
and tools used in the workshops, 400 page plus reference manual, plus a free
consulting service after graduation. Tuition refunded if dissatisfied.
