Cohousing-L Mailing List: Community forming

We are looking for co-creators for an intentional community with a 
residential/cohousing "core".  Our guiding principles as currently envisioned 
are:
1)  Treating the Earth and our fellow beings, human and otherwise, with respect.
2)  Creating economies of scale/synergies within the community, allowing our 
members more time, money and freedom.
3)  Balancing people?s needs for privacy and association.
4)  Sharing what we learn about "getting along" with the greater community 
around us.
5)  Tolerance and respect for diversity.

We are currently seeking to create an "organic retrofit" community, i.e. moving 
into an existing residential neighborhood, preferably in a one block area, 
taking down the back yard fences as we grow.  We want to site this in the 
greater San Francisco Bay area (but haven?t ruled out Davis) in a neighborhood 
close to transit and a town center.

We are looking for people tolerant of different spiritual paths and lifestyle 
choices.  We will actively recycle, garden organically, and encourage 
carpooling and transit use.

We currently have meetings one Sunday a month, during which we discuss values 
and visions and talk about what we'd like to create.  Our next meeting is on 
Sunday evening, April 22, in the East Bay.
