Laurie Schneider wrote asking about trailers as a low income option: The Winward Community, in Klickitat, WA, is a cooperative community which is housed in trailers. They own 120 acres of land and host festivals such as the Society of Creative Anacronism as a community business. I beleive they are written up in the current directory of intentional communities. THere are dozens of other communities lists in the above directory which provide community living at very low or no cost. The new edition of the directory comes out in a couple of weeks.
