I strongly support recycling old houses and/or rebuilding on land in the city, as opposed to building new structures on near lands, as I've posted before. Questions: What would be the $$$ cost of moving them be? Cost per mile? Would the *environmental* cost of moving them be versus the cost of materials from building brand new? Sounds like a few gallons of diesel fuel & pouring a new concrete pad versus all the wood, drywall, plumbing, HVAC, wiring, etc. Plus it would be extremely costly to replicate the materials and workmanship in the typical Victorian. I assum you could only move smaller Victorians. Many of the Victorians I know in Denver/Boulder in the core cities are large to huge. MikeM
