It actually sounds like we're at different stages of cohousing: some in
for years already, others just starting out.  For different people, there
are different issues that are relevant .  Our group in Rockland County NY,
for example, has been meeting for "only" 4-5 months, and I find the
issues of development models, use of professionals, building community
(before the 'physical' community), legal formation, etc., real helpful
at this time.

And on top of that, practically all the other topics discussed, are also
of interest, even though I may not need to know the details right now.

I've switched to digest mode on the several lists I belong to, and I've found
it helps.

I'd say it's a matter of self-policing, and it doesn't appear to me that
many irrelevant msgs have been posted here.

In a related matter, just imagine how massively confusing it would be for
subscribers to post their profiles individually to the list, at different
times.  I've seen it on other lists - it works better when it can be compiled
'off-line' in a sane manner.
