"There is considerable energy on the part of some influential people to interconnect the two movements. I don't see anything unhealthy about this. Do you?" ~~~~~~~~~~Mmariner [at] aol.com No, I certainly do not see anything unhealthy about interconnecting cohousing and other intentional communities--in my opinion, they are one and the same. Why should cohousing be separate from Intentional Communities? They are one and the same--cohousing *is* an intentional community. You have to have a serious *intent* to live in this type of community in order to endure the five years of meetings, studying, interviews, discussions,self-education and what-not that goes into making a community. I would welcome input from the Intentional Communities people in this forum, and I look forward to hearing what they have to say. Maybe there are many people on the Cohousing-l who are also Intentional Communities people. It would be interesting to hear what the differences in focus are between the two groups. @@ Diane Simpson @@@@ Would-Be Jamaica Plain Cohousing(Boston) | "| 263 Chestnut Ave.,#1 | V| Boston, MA 02130-4436 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
