Cohousing-L Mailing List: Re: Cohousing-L to be down Fri June 30 to July 17

This a repeat of the message I sent out Monday with some 
additional notes at the end.  Fred


The listserver for Cohousing-L will be down for a about two 
weeks starting Friday June 30 and ending about Monday July 17th.

A program will be installed that will return mail sent 
to the the listserv and Cohousing-L addresses, saying 
to check back after July 17th.

Therefore, messages, replies, and commands should NOT 
be sent between June 30th and July 17,1995.

The WWW site will be operating, use it.  Enjoy the break.

Some software upgrades to be installed during this time
will hopefully reduce some of the numerous "address problems"
we have had.  (Tho there will probably be some initial problems
when the "alias" file is rebuilt).

Additional notes 6/30/95 just before the break:

While the list is down:

1) If your mailbox ("inbox") is too full clean it out some...
   Lately I've had a number of subscribers' messages bouncing 
   due to this problem. (umich.edu is really annoying on this -
   enumerable bounce messages that dont explain the problem :(
   If a problem (of any kind) persists, I eventually drop
   subscriptions with problems.  If you get dropped, get the problem
   fixed, re-subscribe and maybe send me a note of expaination.

2)  I like Mike's idea of corresponding with clusters of folks with 
    who have expressed similar ideas or posted on the same topic.
    Try it.  (Some day I'd like to see some software developed to 
    facilitate short term sub lists.)

3)  If you have anything VERY URGENT to be sent to the Cohousing-L 
    subscribers during the break, you can send it to me with an 
    explaination.  I'll have the capability of distributing it.
    I may send a message or two out during the break if I have
    any news.

4)  Check out the cohousing WWW and/or Gopher
