Mino Sullivan asked about rotating membership on committees. At Sharingwood the board of directors serves on staggered two year terms, so any given year 2-3 of the five board members are replaced. This keeps continuity and allows for fresh blood. We have a nominating committee who asks people to serve on the board and so the board is essentially lined up in advance of the actual "election" which is a formality at our general meeting. If I remember the bylaws right a board member can serve 2 terms (4 years) then can't be on the board for at least 1 year. In general the nominating committee looks for people who have not yet served on the board first. All other committees are voluntary, who ever is interested goes to the meetings. What this has meant is that some committees have no members and cease functioning depending on the interest level of the community. Rob Sandelin Sharingwood
