Yeap, Harry, that's the norn here in California. The concern out here is meeting the codes for health and safety. Some cities even have prepared drawings of standard construction details that you can simply attach to your "plans." If things go beyond the ordinary, an engineer's certification is usually requested rather than an architect's.
