Well, I've been lurking for far too long around here!  Here's my particulars:

Stage of Development:  First move-ins this week; my house in October
What I do for money:  I run a small software company (Vireo Software),
selling a programming toolkit for people who need to write device drivers
for MS Windows.
What I do for fun:  volleyball, juggling, playing Javanese music, dancing,
political organizing, walking through deserts, watching movies, reading, Aikido.
 Favorite thing about community: It helps me find an easier balance between
family, work, and my responsibility to the Earth while staying connected
with other people of like minds.
Worst thing about community:  It's always been transient.
If I was in charge, I would:  Give everybody a sabbatical for one year out
of every six, and enough support (financial, community) to do something
really important/fun/creative/educational/responsible.

A note of interest - I was interviewed by the local NPR affiliate a few
weeks ago regarding our cohousing development.  We stood at the top of the
hill listening to sounds of construction at New View, and I rambled about
why exactly I spent so much of the last 5.5 years of my life working to move
into cohousing. I don't know if/when it will be aired, but I'll keep the
list posted if I find out in advance.
